Matthew 5:13 – 16 – “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. (Jesus is commanding Christians to be salt – a Godly example to people in our family, our neighbors, our community, and all those we come in contact with. We are to be different and not conform to the world. What we say and do must be such that it will influence others towards Christ instead of driving them away. The things we must avoid though is this – being preachy and forcing our views on others instead of listening in order to discover what they believe and feel. This needs to be followed up with questions. This it the tactic the best debaters use. In this way it is possible to get the other person to think about what they believe in. For instance, if a person wants to convince another person that abortion is wrong, try asking a few questions in order to draw them out about what they really think. For example – “When, in the mother’s womb, do you think a baby becomes a baby? At what stage of pregnancy do you think abortion is okay? Do you believe a two-year-old should be killed because it isn’t wanted?” Questions like this could lead the other person who is pro-choice to rethink his or her position. The reason the culture has drifted so far downhill towards perversion is because most Christians don’t know how to use apologetics or even understand it. So they are afraid to say anything if a topic comes up that is unscriptural. Apologetics is an expression of our belief system that is based firmly on the Bible along with science and history that bear out it’s truthfulness. It is an excellent tool for Christians to use when trying to win over others to Christ.
The Importance of Being Salt and Light
Jesus goes on to say, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Here Jesus is telling us that we are to be a witness to others in order to draw them to Christ. This doesn’t mean going door to door and just blurting out what we believe like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons do unless one is clearly led by the Holy Spirit to do so. It means we are to share our personal testimony with others about what Jesus has done for us. It may just come up in a conversation or the Holy Spirit may be prompting us to go and pray for a neighbor, family member, a fellow worker, or a friend. Witnessing works best when it is done naturally as one is led by the Lord. As we seek to follow Christ we will automatically find ourselves being led into situations where He can use us. The more Christians obey Jesus and follow His commandments the more we will see our culture change for the better.)
We are in the fight of our life for our country. Every demon in Hell has come against it. Have you wondered why the President has come under so much attack? It is because he has supported Israel and religious freedom. The enemy doesn’t like either. What does the Bible say about spiritual warfare? Ephesians 6:12 says that our battle isn’t against other people but it’s against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Those people in authority who are trying to harm our country are being used by the enemy because they aren’t submitting to God and His authority. We have only two choices in life – to follow the world and its desires or to follow God. This is why we are seeing such a division in our nation. There are people being controlled by the Holy Spirit on one side and those being controlled by Satan on the other. Those of us who are following after Jesus know that there is only one sure way to defeat the enemy and that is through prayer and the Bible. Ephesians 6:13 – 18 tells us what to do. We are to put on the armor of God which will protect us from the evil one. First we need the belt of truth. Truth can only be found in the Word of God. Next we need the breastplate of righteousness. Our righteousness comes through Jesus Christ who took our sin and put His cloak of righteousness on us. Then we are to fit our feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. When we are controlled by the Holy Spirit He will prepare us to share the gospel with those who want to hear the truth. The shield of faith will extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. We get faith through studying God’s Word and applying it to our lives. Next we are to protect our heads with the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. We have to remember that we can do nothing apart from Jesus Christ. With our armor donned, we need to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests for ourselves and all God’s people. This is the only way we will save our country. 2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Why There is Resistance to Trump’s Policies
Here are the reasons I personally believe are behind so much resistance to the President’s policies. I will go through a through of them.
- Resistance to the wall being built. The left wants open borders because this would lead to our country being forced into a one-world-government system. Why? Because when nations open up their borders to just anyone they are in danger of losing their sovereignty. The President knows this and that is why he is fighting so hard to build the wall at our southern border.
- Resistance to the President’s decision to protect our country against the dangers of losing our grid. The President signed an executive order to protect it but has had strong resistance from the left. Why? I believe it is because if we lose the grid and all our electricity we will be forced into a global system out of a need for survival. If we lose our energy in America it is predicted that 90% of the population would perish within a year. Of course this could not be accepted so we would be forced to join with globalist countries who could come to our rescue. These countries, through clever planning, would still have their grids up – thus their electricity.
- Resistance to the President’s development of our gas and energy supplies. The President is not a globalist and he wants to protect our nation’s sovereignty. Therefore he is doing everything he can to help us keep our independence. This is one reason he is negotiating with other countries, including China, to get fair trade deals. It is the only way our nation can remain independent in the long run.
- Resistance to socialism and its practices. The President is very aware of the dangers of socialism. History proves the fact that it has never succeeded and never will. The people on the left who are campaigning to run against the President in 2020 all have socialistic ideas. Many have suggested that we need to eliminate gasoline and rely only on wind and solar power. They mistakenly say that we will no longer exist in twelve years if we don’t do something right now. But if we follow that course of action we will need to get rid of cars and airplanes. Cows pollute the atmosphere, so they say, so we would have to eliminate them as well. That would mean no more trips to see grandma. No more steak dinners. No more cookouts because we could no longer have hamburgers.
- Resistance to the President’s decision to keep America a free and sovereign nation. Satan is behind all this resistance because he wants us to become part of the one world government under which the Anti-Christ would have total control. It would be a system that would bring nothing but death and destruction to the entire world. You can read all about it in the book of Revelation.
Is Socialism Biblical?
Some people with left-leaning ideas have used the Bible as an example to try and drive home an argument that socialism works. They don’t understand that the early church, in order to survive the brutal persecution of the Roman empire, were forced to work together and pool their resources. Yet everyone had to pull their own weight as Paul instructed in 2 Thessalonians 3:10. – For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” New Living Translation. Democratic socialism is entirely different from how the early church lived. All one has to do is look at Venezuela to see that it only leads to disaster. People suffer from poverty and even starvation while the top government officials enjoy a wealthy life style. There are those like Bernie Sanders in America who advocate socialism. He is either ignorant of the facts or is deliberately trying to dupe the people. History has proven that capitalism works because it is the only form of government that gives its citizens the incentive to work hard. When the government sets prices and wages people tend to produce poorer products at a higher cost because there is no longer any competition among private companies. The government either controls or, worse yet, owns them. Look at it this way. Suppose you go into a restaurant and order a meal. Afterward, instead of the waitress receiving your tip, she is forced to give it to a vagrant just outside the door. This is what socialism does. It spreads the wealth by taking from those who work and giving it to those who don’t work. I am not saying that we shouldn’t help those who, through no fault of their own, are not able to work. But the help should come from the church and local charities rather than the federal government. It was never the job of the government to give out handouts. The Constitution gives the federal government the power to coin money, to regulate commerce, to declare war, to raise and maintain armed forces, and to establish a Post Office. Everything else belongs to the states. The states have been laboratories that discover what works and what does not. Many states have laws requiring them to balance their budgets. This keeps them from spending money needlessly. The federal government has no such law. This is why we, the citizens, need to demand that they pass such a requirement. Once this is done they will be forced to get back to the job the Constitution has allocated to them and no more.
It is Time For Christians to Come Out of the Closet
Decades ago there was a common saying – “You can’t legislate morality.” This was a great deception that too many Christians fell for. Reason should have told them that somebody’s morality is always being legislated. Because the lie was bought hook, line, and sinker the anti-family, anti-God culture we live in today has been allowed to take over this great nation. Fortunately enough Christians woke up in 2016 to see our liberties were in danger and they went to the polls in large enough numbers to elect Donald Trump as President. So now we have a reprieve but it is one that won’t last unless Christians come out of the closet and make their voices heard everywhere from the local City Counsel to the State Legislature and on to the U.S. Congress. We can no longer afford to remain silent when we see our culture being ripped apart by abortion on demand and same-sex marriage. First we must get on our knees and ask God for mercy and forgiveness. Then we need to get up and get involved with our money and our action. There are many pro-family groups we can join or contribute to financially or both. A relatively new group – CIT (Cultural Impact Team) – is training Christians in their churches how to move the culture in the right direction. If your church doesn’t have one you can start one by contacting the Family Heritage Alliance and finding out how. It is time for Christians to unite and organize in a solid effort to take our country back for God. If we don’t act we will soon see a movement that strips us of all our religious freedoms because the anti-God culture will trump, through legislation, everything Christians believe in.
True History Needs to be Taught
Over the years history books have been changed so the truth has been skewed about America and its founding. No longer is the Constitution being taught and our founding fathers have been diminished so they are barely mentioned if at all. Instead large portions of the textbooks teach students what the left wants them to know and omits the parts they don’t. Is it any wonder that more and more parents are home schooling? They can get their hands on good text books and teach their kids that our country was founded on Christian principles. In fact many of our laws have been taken from the Old Testament. David Barton is a renowned historian who has gone back to the original documents and studied them. He has gone to churches and other organizations to teach the truth and how it has been transformed into a bunch of lies and propaganda over the years. We can get good information from other sources as well. A good scholar of the Constitution is Mark Levin and he has knowledgeable people on his show. It is a good idea to have a copy of it in your home and it should be read periodically so when leftist propaganda comes at us over the airwaves we can immediately discern it for what it is.
How To Detect a Counterfeit
One day a little boy asked his father, “Dad, how can you tell if something is false or not?” The father pulled a dollar bill out of his pocket and answered, “Son, do you see this? I learned how to tell counterfeit money from the real thing by studying this authentic dollar bill.” The man worked for the U.S. Mint so he had to study every detail of coins and other legal tender and he did this for years. After a while, when he saw a counterfeit it would jump right out at him. The same is true with the Word of God. When it is studied regularly for years a counterfeit will leap out at you. If a false shepherd or wolf shows up to teach another gospel you will immediately get warning signals. You will know that it isn’t true. This is how the truth will set you free.
A Nation That Turns From God Is Headed For Destruction
The Bible teaches us that all belongs to God and we are to be good stewards. It specifically warns us about debt. Psalms 37:21-22 – The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives; for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off. America has spent far more than it takes in over the years and has accumulated a massive debt of several trillion dollars. If we don’t get a handle on this we will eventually go the way Rome did and fall. What can we do about this? First we need to manage our own debt. Some of us need to cut up our credit cards. We need to live by this principle. Never buy anything we don’t already have the money to pay for. Two exceptions would be a house and a car. These are things we have to have. Anything else can wait – that vacation, that boat, or that four wheeler. These are privileges, not necessities. The Bible also teaches us about giving. America is blessed because we are one of the most giving nations in the world. Those who give will be given much. Acts 20:35 – “There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” We should give cheerfully without expecting anything in return. 2 Cor. 9:7 – “Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” We also need to use wisdom before giving money to anyone. Otherwise we may do more harm than good. That person may use it to gamble or buy strong drink instead of something beneficial. 1 Cor. 6:9-10 – Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom. Also we shouldn’t give aid to anyone who is able to do for themselves because to do so would enable them to be irresponsible. 1 Tim. 5:8 – Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.
On a historic day in June of 1962 the Supreme Court removed prayer from the public schools. This began a downward trend in our culture over the years. Today we are seeing things that would have been unthinkable before this decision – abortion on demand, same-sex marriage and a sexual revolution that would make Sodom and Gomorrah look like a Sunday school picnic. Our nation has fallen victim to the pernicious lies of the devil. According to Romans chapter 1, a nation that turns away from God gradually sees its culture erode until final destruction is realized. This looks pretty hopeless for America, doesn’t it? But wait! Jesus gave us the solution. He said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth and the life….” That means if we put our trust in Jesus alone, He has promised to give us life. Jesus is the Rock on which all truth is built. Without truth there can be no life. Jesus also said the truth will set us free. (John 8:31-32)
With this being said there are only two paths we can follow – the wide path that leads to destruction or the narrow path that leads to life. (Matthew 7:13-14) Satan is the one who came to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10-12) but Jesus came to give us abundant life. This is why it is so important to study the Bible. It is God’s road map for us and if we veer from it, we will crash sooner or later. Those who have sealed God’s Word in their hearts won’t be easily tripped up by the enemy because they will recognize him. To know the Word will help us recognize the voice of Jesus when He calls out to us. (John 10:27)
What is Truth?
Jesus said that He is the truth. Truth can only be found in God. It is not man’s opinion because opinion is based on feelings. If one wants to find the truth, it can only be found in the pages of the Bible. Sometimes a person can stumble upon the truth by reading a good book, a news article, or watching a good movie but only if it is based on what has already been written in the Bible. This is why it is important who you listen to, watch, or identify with. Here are some questions to ask when searching for the truth.
Is what I am listening to, reading about, or watching in agreement with scripture?
If not, then throw it away, turn it off, and walk away.
Is what I am hearing leading me to Jesus Christ or is it pointing me to a person?
Many cults sound scriptural but when they are examined carefully they always bring glory to a man and not to God. They are controlling and do not allow for individual scrutiny of what is being taught.
Does the message bring inner peace or only confusion?
God is never the author of confusion. His message brings peace and love.
Does the message cause me to want to pray for others and serve them?
Jesus said He came to serve and not be served. He taught us to follow His example. When serving others there is no room for pride because self is not the focus.
When you are searching for the truth be sure you are in the Word, attending a Bible centered church, and surrounding yourself with other believers. The Bible says that we are to stay constantly in contact with them. A triple stranded cord is not easily broken and the best antidote against Satan’s lies and traps is to remain in Christian fellowship.
